Paula Buchta is a rising director and videographer from Germany, based in Paris.

 

She was recently selected for the Shiny New Directors List, highlighting her as one of the most promising emerging voices in filmmaking. Her films and visual pieces have been showcased across an impressive range of platforms and festivals, including Minute Shorts, NOWNESS Asia, Kyiv International Film Festival, Curation Hour, The Film Shortage, Berlin Commercial Festival, Conero Film + ADV, and the prestigious BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival.

Bridging commercial and artistic work, Paula recently directed a GQ Germany campaign for Louis Vuitton and a music film for the acclaimed Moses Yoofee Trio, which will be released on Kodak’s Shoot on Film platform. Her style often explores intimate, human-centered narratives while retaining a cinematic edge rooted in strong visual composition.

Currently, Paula is working full-time with the Italian magazine and cultural platform Italy Segreta, where she is developing and directing their first long-format documentary series across Italy
